Rev. Debra Griffis-Woodberry | Pastor

Rev. Debra Griffis-Woodberry is an elder in the SC Conference of the United Methodist Church. She has over thirty years of ministry experience having served God through churches in North Carolina and Maryland. Upon returning in 1988 to her home state of SC, she had appointments in Hartsville, Greenwood and Summerville before coming to Greenville in June of 2006. She enjoys water sports and gardening. Debra and her husband have one child who is in college.

Bill Whipple | Congregational Care

Bill Whipple assists the congregation in providing direction of the Stephen Ministers Program. He also oversees the ministry to Senior Adults and co-ordinates helping ministries during times of crisis for families.

Barbara McInerney
Director of Child Development Center

Barb McInerney is the Director of the Child Development Center and has been a member of Disciples since 1981. She holds an M.Ed. and has been actively involved in Children's Ministry for 30 years. Barb is a member of the handbell choir and serves as a Stephen Minister for Disciples. Barb and her husband have four grown children. In her spare time Barb enjoys sewing, baking, smocking, quilting, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Rachel Mattews | Pastoral Counselor

Rachel Mathews provides pastoral counseling at the Disciples UM Counseling Center through A Sacred Space Pastoral Counseling and Consultation, LLC. She is an ordained teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and a South Carolina State licensed professional counselor. The mission of A Sacred Space Pastoral Counseling is to provide a safe and sacred therapeutic space through which people can heal and grow toward greater wholeness in relation to self, others and God.

Steve Mathena | Director of Music

Patty Hammond | Pianist and Organist

Patty plays the piano and organ for both of Disciples’ worship services. She also is the accompanist for the chancel choir. Patty is married. She has two grown children. The joy of her life is to teach fourth grade. She is in her 29th year of teaching in elementary school. A member of Disciples UMC since 1990, Patty has been the church musician since 1994. She also teaches piano lessons and enjoys reading, cooking and hiking.

Cheryl Lehnert | Secretary

Cheryl has been with Disciples for over 6 years. She is married and the mother of two children, a son, 22 and a daughter, 15. Hobbies include scrapbooking, cooking, and of course, soccer.
