Two huge red ribbons on the outside and a plaque with names of those who died from AIDS are ways Hollywood United Methodist Church in Los Angeles, California makes an effort to stand with those living with HIV and AIDS. Thirty years ago when the disease was first discovered, the congregation made a controversial decision to embrace those living with HIV. Today, the church continues outreach efforts to adults and children living with HIV, taking meals and kind words to patients at a clinic. "People are waiting hours for treatment. They can go all day without having anything to eat, or a warm hug, or a smile."
